
A jury found a man from Guerrero, Mexico guilty on multiple drug trafficking and firearms charges. A press release from the U.S. Attorney’s office says in January of 2023, the Bureau of Indian Affairs and Drug Enforcement Administration identified 45-year-old Luis Esquivel-Bolanos, also known as “Colorado” as a member of a drug trafficking organization. It continues, saying that organizations has flooded Eastern Washington, and as far as Montana, with methamphetamine and fentanyl. Esquivel-Bolanos was identified as part of the Jalisco Cartel in the release.
Almost exactly 2 years ago, on April 19th 2023, investigators seized approximately 161,000 fentanyl-laced pills, approximately 80 pounds of methamphetamine, approximately 6 pounds of heroin, and more than 2 pounds of cocaine.
Esquivel-Bolanos faces sentencing July 16th. He faces a maximum term of life in prison.
