Observing Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the Nez Perce County Prosecutor’s office is offering cup covers to keep your drink from being drugged.

The Prosecutor’s office says every year they work with law enforcement to hold offenders of sexual violence accountable, and within the last year, some investigations have included people having their drinks “roofied” at Lewiston bars and then being assaulted.

By teaming up with local businesses, they’re offering cup covers with a Prosecutor’s office badge on them to help prevent date rape.

Nez Perce County Prosecutor Justin Coleman says “Women in our community deserve to be safe at all times and in every situation…a single incident of drugging someone is completely unacceptable.” He went on to say “People should be careful not to leave their drinks unattended, but the use of a cup cover can be an additional layer of protection.

You can pick one up at Hops & Vine, Jollymore’s, Corner Villa, Canters, Brava’s, and Brock’s.
