Two leaders of the Idaho Democratic Party are stepping down next year.
Party chairman Bert Marley and Executive Director Elle Casner both plan to leave their posts in mid-March.
Marley, a former state lawmaker, said he originally committed to serving two two-year terms as chairman. He took the position in 2015.
Casner has worked for the state party since February 2015, and was named executive director in November of last year.
The state party will announce the hiring process for a new executive director early next year, and the state central committee will meet March 16th to elect a new chairman.
The moves come after Democrats picked up four seats in the Idaho Legislature during the November election, and fielded several worthy candidates for statewide office, although none prevailed. (IDP, Lewiston Tribune)
