Moscow woman pleads guilty to vehicular manslaughter in deadly collision

A Moscow woman has pleaded guilty to charges related to the death of an elderly woman in a two-vehicle collision Dec. 24thh last year south of Moscow.

48-year-old Stacey Davis entered guilty pleas for vehicular manslaughter and aggravated driving under the influence in Latah County District Court.

According to court documents, Davis was traveling south on U.S. Highway 95 in a 2005 Pontiac Vibe on Christmas Eve last year and attempted to turn left onto Eid Road. Davis failed to yield and a 2000 Nissan Altima, resulting in a head-on collision.

Davis was found to be under the influence of methamphetamine at the time.

The driver of the Altima, 25-year-old Hailey Dismukes of Post Falls, and her two passengers, 33-year-old Brock Montee of Post Falls, and 75-year-old Calleen White of Coeur d’Alene, were taken to Gritman Medical Center by Moscow Ambulance. White, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 16th. Latah County Prosecutor Bill Thompson said that as part of her plea agreement, Davis faces the possibility of being sentenced to 10 years in prison, with two years fixed, in addition to restitution. However, the judge could order a lighter sentence, which could include probation. (Lewiston Tribune)
