Some 5,000 Lewiston and Clarkston residents were without power for several hours Sunday evening.
The outage began at around 5:30 p.m. and afffected parts of downtown Lewiston from Snake River Avenue east to 21st Street as well as the Elks Addition and Hells Gate State Park. Power was also lost in parts of east Clarkston.
Power was restored shortly after 9 p.m.
Officials with Avista Utilities are still working to determine the cause of the outage.
