Six Minnesota pitchers combined on a 5-hit shutout as the Twins beat the Seattle Mariners 5-0 yesterday (Wed) at T-Mobile Park.
Sonny Gray earned the win – allowing no runs on 3 hits in 5 innings. Luis Arraez drove in two runs for Minnesota, who won two of the three games in the series.
Former Gonzaga star Marco Gonzales fell to 3-7 on the year. The left-hander gave up just a run on 3 hits over 6 2/3 innings.
Jesse Winker had two hits for Seattle in the loss.
The Mariners open a 4-game American League West series with the Los Angeles Angels tonight (Thur) at T-Mobile Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. with live coverage in the LC Valley on 93.1 FM and 1350 AM KRLC and in the upper Clearwater Valley on AM 1300 KLER.
Meanwhile, former Lewis-Clark State standout pitcher Connor Brogdon picked up his second win of the season for Philadelphia. The
right-hander struck out two of the three he faced in the 9th inning of the Phillies walk-off 3-1 win over Miami yesterday.
