CLARKSTON, WA – The Tri-State Hospital Foundation has received a $50,000 donation from Clearwater Paper. The gift will go towards the Major Giving Initiative – Expanding the Dream, to help support the construction of the new Inpatient & Dietary Wing for Tri-State Memorial Hospital & Medical Campus.
“On behalf of Clearwater Paper’s 1,300 employees in Lewiston, we are very pleased to offer this important donation to help further the excellent care and services of Tri-State Memorial Hospital,” Consumer Products Division Mill Manager Scott Charney says.
This upwards of $35-million-dollar project includes a main floor housing six ICU rooms, a lab, an admissions area, a café, bistro, and a gift shop; a second-floor housing 19 medical/surgical single inpatient rooms with 4 observation units; and an unfinished lower level. The new wing will be 54,395 square feet and will allow the hospital to remain competitive with regional hospitals that have single patient rooms, and newer facilities, and to sustain – if not grow – its financial viability by keeping, and possibly growing the market share.
“Clearwater Paper’s employees, families, and neighbors will all receive a higher quality of life in the Lewis-Clark Valley because of critical services through Tri-State’s new inpatient wing,” Charney says. “We are pleased that we can offer this gift in our ongoing support of the community hospital.”
“We are incredibly grateful for this generous donation,” according to the foundation’s Chief Development Officer, D’Lynn Ottmar. “It is because of amazing partners like Clearwater Paper that we are fortunate to keep providing local, patient-centered health care to the community.”
