ELK RIVER, ID – Over the weekend, a Clarkston man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Clearwater County. According to the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office, Steven Raney was the subject of an overdue motorcycle rider report on Saturday. He was participating in the Elk River ATV Fun Run.

“Natasha Mael reported her fiance, Steven Raney, was overdue to return from his participation ride in the Elk River ATV fun run. Natasha said Steven had recently bought a new motorcycle and took it out to participate in the fun run. Natasha reported Steven was an experienced rider, knew the area well and was wearing a helmet during his ride,” according to a press release.

CCSO Deputies and CCSO Search and Rescue personnel were dispatched to search for Ramey.

“CCSO SAR continued the search well in the early morning hours without success. At daylight CCSO SAR continued searching the area Steven was last known to be in. Two Bear Air helicopter Service of Kalispell, Montana was contacted and joined the search. Two Bear Air was restricted from flying the previous night due to inclement weather in the area,” the press release says.
