The Idaho County Sheriff’s Department assisted a stranded group in the backcountry early Tuesday morning.
According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, at about 3:15 AM, Idaho County Dispatch took a call from an emergency relay center that had been contacted by an SOS from an iPhone.
The party of four from Nebraska were in a black Ford Excursion and were stuck in the snow. approximately 3 miles east of Snowy Summit Mountain on the 500 Road. No one was hurt,
the vehicle still had fuel, but the group was unable to get the SUV out of the snow.
Idaho County Posse members Larry McPherson and Bob Morgan responded and were able to assist them with getting unstuck.
