The public is invited to enjoy the annual Community Spirit Fireworks show scheduled for 10 p.m. on Tuesday. However, due to an increase in costs associated with the event, Clarkston’s Adams Field will be closed to the public this year.
Instead, residents are encouraged to watch the show from several different public viewing points throughout the valley.
Lewiston residents are reminded that aerial fireworks remain illegal to ignite. Generally, if it goes up and blows up, it’s illegal within the Lewiston city limits. Possession or use of illegal fireworks could result in a misdemeanor with a penalty of as much as six months in jail and a $1,000 fine. City of Lewiston rules permit non-aerial fireworks to be sold and discharged June 28 to July 5 every year between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m.
A fun patriotic soundtrack will accompany Tuesday night’s fireworks display on McVey Entertainment Group radio stations: 93.1 FM and 1350 AM KRLC, Z-Rock 96.5 FM, Canyon Country 106.9 FM and The River 105.1 FM.
