KENDRICK, ID – A new fire was reported this afternoon and was quickly suppressed by responding air and ground firefighting resources. The fire was first reported shortly before 4:30 p.m. at 20 acres in size and approximately four miles northeast of the town of Kendrick. Quick response halted the fire spread at approximately 30 acres.
Resources that responded included a 20-person Type 2 hand crew, five fire engines, a Type 2 helicopter, helitack firefighters, and rural fire departments. An additional three fire engines have been requested for tomorrow to secure the fire perimeter. Current containment is estimated at 20% with full containment expected by the end of the day tomorrow.
