CLARKSTON, WA – A 53-year-old man was arrested in the 900 block of Diagonal Street early Friday evening after he allegedly threatened his domestic partner with a knife two days prior. According to a Probable Cause Affidavit, Darrin R. Walker was booked into the Asotin County Jail on charges of 2nd-Degree Assault-Domestic Violence, 4th-Degree Assault-Domestic Violence, and Threats to Kill-Domestic Violence.

Court documents say a 54-year-old woman contacted an Asotin County Sheriff’s deputy at the Swallows Park Boat Launch at around 10:20 a.m. on September 13th and reported that she had been in a physical dispute in the dog park parking lot with Walker, who is her fiancé. Walker had left the scene.

The woman reportedly told the deputy that the couple lived in a camper which they towed around town.

“[She] said she had awakened and told Darrin what time it was,” the affidavit says. “She said Darrin got up and became very upset with her. She said he yelled at her and asked her why she never lets him sleep.”

Walker then allegedly threw an oatmeal bar at the woman, put his hand over her mouth and right eye, and pushed her according to the affidavit.

The woman told Walker to stop.

“[She] said Darrin then told her he was getting his knife and was going to “cut her up,” the affidavit says. “[She] said Darrin went outside and returned with his knife, which he calls “Slicer.” It was described as a fixed-blade knife over six inches long.

“[The woman] said Darrin pushed her again and was now standing over her,” according to the affidavit. “[She] said he was holding the knife by the handle, with the blade up, and told her he was going to stab her.”

She again reportedly told Walker to stop, calm down, and let her go.

“[He] said he was going to take [her] into the woods and kill her,” the affidavit says.

The woman escaped with her dog and located a park ranger. Walker left the scene but was located by a deputy two days later.
