LEWISTON, ID – Three people, including a woman on parole for the murder of her boyfriend in Asotin County in 2005, have been indicted by a grand jury for their alleged roles in the attempted 1st-degree murder of a man in Lewiston this past summer. According to the Nez Perce County Prosecutor’s Office, 58-year-old Kelley A. Wilson has been charged with Accessory to Attempted First-Degree Murder; and 57-year-old Robert J. LaPlante and 42-year-old Timothy Allen have been charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder. The Bond for each defendant has been set at $1 million.
On July 14th the Lewiston Police Department responded to an injured person call in North Lewiston. Upon arrival, officers located the victim unconscious with multiple stab wounds. Through a multi-month investigation, LPD detectives were able to determine the three suspects were alleged to have been involved.
All three of these individuals have been taken into custody and are currently awaiting court dates.
“Over the last several months, the Lewiston Police Department worked tirelessly to bring justice to the victim. They have spent hundreds of hours and interviewed dozens of witnesses to bring this case to the grand jury. I want to personally thank all the Officers, Troopers, and Deputies who worked throughout the last 48 hours to take these three into custody. I also want to specifically thank Detective Corporal Cody Bloomsburg, Detective Brian Erickson, and Chief Deputy April Smith for the extra work put into obtaining [these] indictments,” Prosecutor Justin Coleman says.
Wilson was sentenced to prison in 2005 for the stabbing death of her then-boyfriend, Charles Thrush, Jr. She claimed the stabbing was in self-defense. The Washington State Court of Appeals Division III later reversed the conviction and she signed a plea agreement for Second-Degree Murder and a sentence of 15 years in prison with credit for serving four years. Wilson was released from prison in 2018.
