Lewiston Fire Crews Respond to Christmas Day House Fire

Lewiston Fire Department crews responded to house fire yesterday (Mon) on the 3100 block of Ninth Street in Lewiston.

According to a press release, crews arrived at the scene at 10:15 a.m. and found heavy smoke coming from the front door and fire from a window at the rear of the building.

Firefighters extinguished the blazee in 15 minutes and stayed on scene for three hours to remove the metal roof and expose the burning material underneath. No injuries were reported.

The Wheatland Fire Department also responded to provide mutual aid.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and damage was estimated at $50,000.
