The Idaho Foodbank, in conjunction with Tri-State Health and the McVey Entertainment Group are conducting a Radio-Thon this Monday, January 15th to help raise funds for the Backpack Program in north central Idaho.
The Idaho Foodbank’s Hy’D Andrews explains how and why the Backpack Program is essential to so many working families.
While food donations are always accepted, monetary donations for the Backpack Program enable the Idaho Foodbank to target specific foods that are more easily obtained by the Foodbank in bulk.
With the help of nutritional experts from Tri-State Health and the resources of the McVey Entertainment Group radio stations, Andrews says the Radio-Thon is an exciting, fun way to reach as many donors as possible to make a real difference in the lives of children throughout the region who’s families often struggle with food insecurity. And it’s easy to donate.
The Radio-Thon includes participating stations Z-Rock 96.5 FM, Canyon Country 106.9 FM and The River 105.1 FM.
A link to donate is already live and can be found online here.
Beginning Monday, donations will be accepted at the McVey Entertainment Group main office at 2575 Snake River Avenue in Lewiston or by calling 208-743-2502. Additionally, on Monday, radio station staff will gladly pick up donations from those giving. This year’s goal is to raise $4,000.
All stations will be commercial free from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday during the Radio-Thon.
