CLARKSTON, WA – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District is clarifying the rules and authorized uses for recreation sites within the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley:
- Within the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley, USACE only directly manages day-use areas. These sites are generally open from 7:30 a.m. to sunset unless otherwise posted. Currently, the Greenbelt Boat Ramp, Evans Pond, Golf Course Pond, and Asotin Slough day-use areas are closed to public use.
- Camping, habitation, or overnight stays are not permitted within day-use areas. The use of tents and other constructs is also banned. Abandoned or cached property left within day-use areas after operating hours will be subject to removal. Failure to abide by these and other posted rules may subject offenders to removal and citations.
- USACE does manage several camping areas near the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley. These areas offer primitive camping with a 14-day stay limit.
- There are three reservation-only campgrounds operating under lease on USACE lands within the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley. They are managed directly by the applicable lessee. More information about these sites can be obtained by contacting them directly.
