Dedicated Community Member to be Honored With Washington Music Educator’s “Friend of Music” Award for SE Region

CLARKSTON, WA – A dedicated Clarkston High School community member will be honored with the esteemed “Friend of Music” award for the Southeast Region by the Washington Music Educators Association. Con Schafman will be recognized during the upcoming band and choir concert at Clarkston High School on Thursday at 7:00 pm.

Mrs. Schafman’s unwavering commitment to the CHS Performing Arts Boosters organization spans nine years, during which she has significantly contributed to the enrichment of the school’s music programs. Her exemplary leadership and tireless efforts have been instrumental in organizing the annual craft fair, a cornerstone event within the Clarkston High School community.

Furthermore, Mrs. Schafman’s dedication extends beyond local initiatives, as she has played a pivotal role in facilitating transformative experiences for students. Notably, she has accompanied the music department on trips to San Francisco and Los Angeles, ensuring that students have access to enriching cultural and educational opportunities.

Throughout her tenure, Mrs. Schafman has served in various officer roles within the music boosters, including the esteemed position of president. Her leadership and strategic guidance have significantly contributed to the success and sustainability of the music programs at Clarkston High School.
