Washington State University men’s basketball coach Kyle Smith is reportedly leaving the Palouse to become the next men’s basketball coach at Stanford.
Smith completed his fifth season with Washington State over the weekend, falling to Iowa State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. It was the first time in 16 years that Wazzu qualified for the Big Dance after finishing second in the Pac-12 regular season.
The Cougars finished the season with a record of 25-10 and Smith was named the Pac-12 Coach of the Year.
He replaces Jerod Haase, who was fired earlier this month after eight seasons.
