The Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office begins a campaign targeting distracted driving this week.
Beginning tomorrow (Wed), and running until April 10th the Sheriffs Office will increase patrols with targeted operations to detect and deter distracted drivers. Deputies will be focusing on educating the public about the risks associated with distracted driving while also enforcing penalties for violators.
Anything that takes eyes off the road, hands off the steering wheel or mind off driving is considered a distraction. To support the enforcement efforts the Sheriff’s Office encourages the public to report instances of distracted driving and to spread awareness about the importance of staying attentive while driving.
