CLARKSTON, WA – The Washington State Patrol has identified the victim of a fatality crash on State Route 129 near Swallows Nest Rock early Tuesday morning. A press release says 17-year-old Kirsten Phillips was driving a 2006 Honda Civic northbound about three miles south of the Clarkston City limits at 12:49 a.m. when she reportedly crossed the center line and collided with a southbound 2005 Chevy Trailblazer driven by 25-year-old Hayden Deeds of Lewiston.

Phillips was a student-athlete at Clarkston High School.

Deeds, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane with serious injuries.

The Washington State Patrol says drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash and the cause of the collision remains under investigation.
