Convicted Murderer Chad Daybell Sentenced to Death

BOISE, ID – Chad Daybell, who was convicted of seven counts related to the murders of his ex-wife and two of his most recent wife’s children, has been sentenced to death by a jury at the Ada County Courthouse in Boise. The 55-year-old Daybell was charged with First-Degree Murder, Conspiracy to Commit First-Degree Murder, Insurance Fraud, and Grand Theft in connection with the deaths of his ex-wife, Tammy Daybell, and Vallow’s children, 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow, and 16-year-old Tylee Ryan.

Last year. 50-year-old Vallow was convicted of First-Degree Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, and Grand Theft and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

In June 2020, Vallow’s children were found buried in a shallow grave on Daybell’s Rexburg, Idaho property following a months-long investigation. They had disappeared the previous September.

On Friday, Judge Steven Boyce instructed the jury about the various possible sentences, including the death penalty.
