Crews working to suppress the Billy Creek Fire burning in the Snake River canyon have increased containment to 63 percent.
The fire is now listed at 3,185 acres.
Areas of concern included smoldering stump holes and a small, unburned area that is well within the fire perimeter. Fire managers say Interagency Hotshot Crews have worked the areas of concern thoroughly and continue to monitor the fire perimeter for areas of concern. Crews working on the fire’s east side continue to monitor and improve fire lines while performing suppression repair work.
A total of 134 personnel, including 1 helicopter, 3 hand crews, and 1 jet boat are assigned to the fire. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
