Texas Fire Near Kendrick Grows to Approximately 1,200 Acres

A wildfire burning near Kendrick has forced many to evacuate as it continues to grow.

According to a news release from the Idaho Department of Lands, areas on Cedar Ridge, Texas Ridge, Linden, all the way down Highway 3 and across the river have been advised to evacuate and/or have been evacuated. The P1 and Texas Ridge roads remain closed.

Many structures remain threatened.

Evacuations are being handled by the Latah County Sheriff’s office with the assistance of Latah County Emergency Management.

The fire remains 0% contained and has grown to an estimated 1,200 acres.

100 firefighters and various air support are currently engaged in fighting the blaze. More resources have been ordered, including a Complex Incident Management Team to manage the fire. The Incident Command Post will be at Kendrick High School.
