Video Report from 1,200-Acre Texas Fire East of Kendrick; Three Structures Lost So Far

KENDRICK, ID – According to the Idaho Department of Lands, three primary structures have been lost in the 1,200-acre Texas Fire east of Kendrick. LC Valley News’ Michael Ringle files this report from the fire scene.

The fire remains at 0% containment.  Approximately 100 firefighters and aircraft from various local, state, and federal agencies are currently engaged in fighting the fire.  More resources have been ordered. Aircraft resources are currently limited.

With the inversion lifting, the fire weather is expected to become hotter and drier throughout the afternoon.

Evacuations for Cedar Ridge, Texas Ridge, Linden, all the way down Highway 3, and across the river are still in effect. P1 and Texas Ridge remain closed.  The Latah County Sheriff’s Office is handling evacuations with the assistance of Latah County Emergency Management.
