Full Containment Reached on Fires Near Riggins

Fire crews have successfully contained both the Cherry and Steelhead fires north of Riggins.

There were no structures involved in either lightning-caused fire. The final acreage for the Steelhead Fire is 59 acres, and 53 acres for the Cherry Fire.

Crews have been patrolling the Steelhead Fire perimeter, while reinforcement of control lines through mop up operations continued for the Cherry Fire. Command of both fires is being transferred back to the Idaho Department of Lands.
