Districts and charters in Idaho now have access to additional ways to support core classroom curriculum with supplementary resources from PragerU Kids, available for use free of charge.
PragerU Kids lesson plans are developed to cover multiple K-12 educational standards in lessons that are engaging, interactive and teach foundational knowledge in subjects ranging from civics to financial literacy. Additionally, the Idaho Legislature’s 2024 House Concurrent Resolution 25 calls for schools to adopt age-appropriate Holocaust educational resources. As part of the informational package, PragerU Kids has provided the Idaho Department of Education with newly developed Holocaust resources that help meet the goals of this resolution. They are available here.
Districts and charters interested in supplementing core classroom curriculum with PragerU Kids resources are invited to browse available sample lessons. Educators, parents and members of the public can review lessons here. All instructional materials are available to the public online.
Districts and charters looking to adopt PragerU Kids resources can do so under the guidelines set forth in Idaho Code 33-512A. The statute calls for a local process that includes a review by a curricular materials adoption committee, followed by final approval from a locally elected board.
“Offering Idaho districts and charters supplementary options that work in their classrooms means making a variety of resources available for use, and is work we have engaged in for nearly two years,” said Superintendent of Public Instruction Debbie Critchfield. “Local boards choose educational materials that are right for their schools and communities and this option from PragerU Kids is another way for school leaders to make informed decisions as they seek ways to best support student learning.”
