A man is facing several charges following a vehicle and foot pursuit in Lewiston.
On Thursday at around 1:30 pm, a Lewiston police officer located a vehicle which was recently reported stolen in the area of 10th St. and Stewart Ave. According to an LPD news release, the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the suspected stolen vehicle. The vehicle initially started to elude the officer, but then stopped near the top of Gun Club Road and the driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Numerous officers attempted to find the suspect in the area, but were unable to locate him.
Several hours later, Lewiston Police received a call from a citizen who advised they saw the suspect walking in the area of Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories. Officers responded to the area and located the suspect who was apprehended following a foot chase.
The suspect, 23-year-old Johnathan Ryan was taken into custody and booked into jail for resisting and obstructing officers, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of the stolen vehicle.
