OLYMPIA, WA – A Washington State Senator recently sat down with the leader of the pro-life group Human Life of Washington to discuss their work in Olympia on proposed controversial chemical abortion legislation. Senate Bill 5321 concerns access at public postsecondary educational institutions to medication abortion. The legislation was the subject of hearings in the Senate Higher Education and Workforce Development Committee this week.
Senator Phil Fortunato (R-Auburn) talked with Esther Ripplinger after the organization was apparently snubbed during public testimony in the committee, which a Democrat chairs. Fortunato questions whether pro-life voices are really being heard in Olympia.
Ripplinger says she wants to know what happened.
She adds that she is concerned because her organization’s key testimony was not heard. Fortunato adds that the other side of this issue is “hell-bent” to make sure women do not know the risks of abortion.
The public can comment on this proposed legislation, as well as numerous other bills being considered in the Washington State Legislature, by submitting written testimony or appearing in person or remotely. For more information, click HERE.
