There’s exciting construction progress underway at the future home of the Lewis Clark Animal Shelter. The roof is on, the concrete is poured, and the exterior walls are up, but there’s still a long way to go.
The project is nearly half finished, but the four-phase plan has to be completely done before they can start moving in. Development Director Becky Sturmer says it’s great for the community to see all the changes, but it’s also important for all of the employees and volunteers associated with the shelter to be reminded of where their hard work is going.
The goal is $7-million. They have about $4-million right now, so things are moving along, but they’re nowhere near the finish line yet. Sturmer says there are a few grants out there, but they’re relying on the generosity of the community for most of the funding.
