Winchester will host Idaho’s Capital for a Day next week.

Idaho Governor Butch Otter brings state government to Idahoans living outside Boise each month by making a different town in Idaho the state’s “Capital for a Day,” with Winchester chosen for Tuesday’s event.

The meetings provide local residents an opportunity to have open discussions about government issues and public policy with Otter, members of his Cabinet, and other senior state officials.   Tuesday’s Capital for a Day runs from 9 AM to 3 PM at the Winchester Community Center.

Officials joining Governor Otter and First Lady Lori Otter include Lieutenant Governor Brad Little, Idaho State Department of Agriculture Director Celia Gould, Idaho Department of Correction Director Henry Atencio, Idaho Fish and Game Director Virgil Moore, Idaho Health and Welfare Director Russ Barron, and Idaho Parks and Recreation Director David Langhorst.

The departments of Commerce, Lands, and Transportation, as well as the Divisions of Veterans Services, Building Safety, and the Idaho State Police, also will have senior representatives on hand to take questions. (Idaho Governor’s Office)
